What to Provide When We Design Your New Website
What to Provide When We Design Your New Website
Designing a new website is an exciting journey! A professional and modern website can be a game-changer for your business, but getting started requires some input from you. To make the process as smooth and efficient as possible, we’ve outlined everything you need to provide when working with us on your new website.
Written Content
The content on your website plays a significant role in engaging your audience and communicating your message. You’ll need to supply all written content for your website in a Word document. This includes:
- Home Page Text: A welcoming introduction to your business.
- About Us: A brief overview of your business, history, and team.
- Services/Products: Clear descriptions of the services or products you offer.
- Contact Information: Address, phone number, email, opening hours and any other contact details.
- Additional Pages: Blog posts, FAQs, or testimonials if applicable.
If you’re unsure about writing content we have a professional copywriter on staff to assist you. When writing your content it is also important to consider what keywords/key phrases that people use to find your business when searching on Google as implementing these keywords can be beneficial to how well you appear on search results. All our websites are built search engine compatible but often after launch content does need to be revised once you start digital marketing and want to target certain key phrases in search results.
High-Resolution Logos and Images
Visuals are crucial for making your website attractive and professional. Please provide:
- Your Business Logo: High-resolution files in formats such as PNG or PDF.
- Images: Any photos that showcase your business, team, products, or services. These should also be high-resolution to ensure they look sharp on the website.
If you don’t have suitable images, don’t worry. We can source high-quality stock photos for you.
Domain Name and Hosting Account
Your website needs a domain name and a hosting account to go live. If you already have these, please provide us with the login credentials for your domain registrar and hosting provider. If not, we can help you:
- Register a Domain Name: We’ll help you choose a domain that’s relevant and easy to remember and can even register on your behalf. You can search for suitable names and purchase via this link: https://www.creativewarrior.net.au
- Purchase Hosting: We can arrange reliable hosting services for your website and offer discounts for new businesses to help ease the costs of launching your website.
- Email Accounts: If this is a new business we can arrange email accounts using your business domain name so let us know how many and what names to use e.g. info@yourbusiness.com.au
Organised File Sharing
To streamline the process and avoid losing files in email threads, please set up a shared Google Drive folder where you can upload all necessary documents and images. This ensures everything is stored in one easily accessible place. If we are also managing your social media accounts the Google Drive app on your phone is the best way to share images on the go of things that you want us to write about for your business.
Additional Details
To make your website truly reflect your brand, it’s helpful to provide:
- Brand Guidelines: If you have specific brand colours, fonts, or styles, please share them with us.
- Social Media Links: Provide the URLs to your business’s social media profiles so we can link them on your website.
- Content Inspiration: Share any websites or designs you like. This helps us understand your vision and create something you’ll love. We use Avada Theme Builder for all our WordPress websites so you can look for inspiration in this template directory: https://avada.website/ or check out our portfolio of past projects: https://www.creativewarrior.com.au/creative-portfolio/
