Amanda from Creative Warrior proved to be an invaluable help throughout the entire process. I love the Montage on the homepage, I love the look of the new showcase, I love the feel of the whole website. I found you very easy to work with, personable and professional, with the patients of a Buddhist Monk. Thank you for putting up with the endless changes I made during the developing stages and projecting calm and creative energy. 2002 - 2005: Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER)
In my 3 year role as Online Services Coordinator/Web Designer I was responsible for maintaining the corporate website, managing and training 15 content updaters spread across several departments within the company. Communicating with senior management and project directors to transfer printed information into a suitable online format for dissemination to a global audience of researchers and educational policy makers.

I supported the ACER IT Department & programming team in commercialising current interfaces, through graphic and usability improvements, for payment gateways, online shopping carts, iAchieve online learning centre, the ACER Data Dissemination Centre, and other associated tests and software. My other roles were to provide internal project support, intranet management, conversion of paper based tests into online assessments, graphic prototypes and html site building using Photoshop and Dreamweaver.

Within the company I streamlined the ID Photo capture procedures for MARA, GAMSAT & GAMSAT UK processing over 3000 images a year for registration purposes, developed the content updating procedures for the website & Intranet, and provided usability analysis & HCI services for all of ACER's software and websites. I also consulted with external educational organisations such as The Learning Federation & DET in the SEAR project in regards to graphic images and their place in online testing.

If you require any of the above services, from web to software design, then please contact me to organise a quote.

Corporate Website for the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER)

www.acer.edu.au

Employed as Online Services Coordinator/Web Designer with ACER for 3 years, working on a broad range of projects. The Corporate Website for ACER was my main responsibility, training and assisting 15 content writers across each company department. Facilitating with senior management and project directors to transfer printed information into a suitable online format for dissemination to a global audience of researchers and educational policy makers.

I also assisted in the re-branding of the company image... updating current websites and software to adhere to new graphic guidelines for logo, colouring and fonts. The largest component being a completely new look and structure for the corporate site, which involved combining the online needs of several internal departments into what was already over 2000 html pages of website. This included adding a version control and content management system so staff had better control of information and improved communication channels with the IT Department.

PISA Australia Website (Programme for International Student Assessment)

One of my last projects before leaving ACER, the PISA Australia website was set up to provide information specifically about the Australian components of PISA and to provide exclusive and secure information to members of the National Advisory Committee and participating schools.

Interactive Items Project with ACER

Goal: to provide interactive assessment over the internet using Macromedia Flash.

The Interactive Items Project included 6 Flash items which I first storyboarded with project managers, then built to prototype stage. Each used friendly graphics and fun sounds to engage the students in the activity. Currently ACER is researching ways of dynamically marking these tests in an online environment and in conjunction with their current learning management systems. Due to bandwidth issues and lack of broadband usage in Australia the project has now shifted to a CD based approach and is still in development.

Picks Rule - discover the secret behinds Picks Mathematical Rule.
Fabulous Frogs - online fact finding mission about frogs.
